Galaxy Cinemas Barrie is hosting a few holiday movies this season to help get you into the festive mood. Admission is cheaper than a regular ticket and one event is actually free to attend.

A Christmas Story ($6.99)

Based on the humorous writings of author Jean Shepherd, this beloved holiday movie follows the wintry exploits of youngster Ralphie Parker, who spends most of his time dodging a bully and dreaming of his ideal Christmas gift, a "Red Ryder air rifle."

Dr. Suess' The Grinch ($2.99)

The Grinch grows increasingly annoyed with the ever-growing festive cheer that engulfs the village of Whoville. So, he teams up with his dog to ruin the festive spirit by playing spoilsport.

Scrooged ($6.99)

A cynically selfish TV executive is haunted by three spirits bearing lessons on Christmas Eve. With the help of the ghosts of the past, present, and future, he realizes that he must reform himself.

Finally, Cineplex is showing a collection of holiday movies for free including A Christmas Story, Elf, Gremlins, National Lampoons Christmas Vacation, and The Polar Express. Just head to the movies, pick a film and enjoy.
