Huntsville Worker’s Injuries Result in Eighty Grand Fine

Company Pleaded Guilty To Lacking Safety Features

A Hamilton-based manufacturer has been fined $80,000 after an on-the-job injury at its Huntsville location.

The injury happened in March of 2017, an inexperienced worker was tasked with clearing a piece of machinery of a backlog, but his sleeve got caught and he was pulled in. This resulted in a months-long stay in hospital.

An investigation by the Ministry of Labour shows the machine lacked proper safeguards, while the company pleaded guilty to failing to ensure it was there in a Bracebridge courtroom.
