“I Got Caught Wearing My LifeJacket”
Reward program returns for 14th year
Southern Georgian Bay OPP have launched their “I Got Caught Wearing Me Life Jacket” program for 2019.
Marine officers reward children they find wearing a life jacket during police spot checks on the water.
The program began in 2005.
If you don’t wear it, it can’t save your life
Non-use of a life jacket was a factor in 22 of the 24 drowning deaths last year on OPP-patrolled waters.
The program is funded by private and business donations.
