Innisfil man facing charges after cops seize six pounds of weed during traffic stop

Stunt driving and speeding charges also laid

Police thought they had a speeder on their hands, but ended up seizing some drugs.

Just after 7 p.m. Friday, a South Simcoe Police officer spotted a vehicle hitting high speeds along 25th Sideroad in Innisfil. The vehicle was clocked at 95 kilometres per hour in a 50 zone and was subsequently pulled over by police.

Investigators say just over six pounds of cannabis and cannabis edibles were seized from the vehicle.

A 28-year-old Innisfil man was arrested and charged with speeding, stunt driving, trafficking, and possessing more pot than is allowed in a public place. His license was suspended for 14 days and his vehicle was impounded for a week.
