News release from the Town of Innisfil
The Town of Innisfil is hosting a second virtual open house for the Town’s Traffic Calming strategy on Monday, December 12, 2022, from 7 to 8 p.m. The open house will include a presentation on the project, including an overview of the findings from the recent traffic calming pilot projects, and the proposed approach for managing traffic calming in the future. A question-and-answer period will take place following the presentation.
"Traffic calming and safety is a top priority for our residents," says Mayor Lynn Dollin. "As the people who live and travel around Innisfil, we hope the community will continue to stay involved and share their expertise as we continue to develop the town's Traffic Calming strategy."
The Town of Innisfil’s Traffic Calming strategy will guide how traffic calming measures are implemented in the future, blending the best proven techniques with new, forward-thinking technologies to address the community’s traffic calming safety needs. The strategy will also include:
- A hotspot analysis to determine key locations for traffic calming measures
- A review of traffic calming best practices and emerging technologies
- A design guide for traffic calming
- Recommendations for policy updates and development
- A ten-year traffic calming program.
