Things were a little quacky in downtown Barrie on Wednesday afternoon.
Police say a resident named Jessica alerted them that a duckling fell through a grate on Simcoe Street. Officers and City of Barrie staff worked together to rescue the baby duck, and were all smiles as they placed the duckling in a bucket to be reunited with its family.

Police said Jessica kept an eye on the duck family while the rescue took place, and once reunited, they prepared for a swim in Lake Simcoe.
