Are you pretty relaxed when it comes to your dental health? Now’s the time to up your at home game when it comes to brushing and flossing.
Dental care plays an important part in maintaining you health by preventing bacteria build-up and inflammation which can affect your immune system. So remember to keep up with routines like brushing twice a day and flossing daily.
Emergency dental care is considered an essential service however the Ontario Dental Association says dentists have been directed not to do check-ups, non-emergency or cosmetic procedures during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Emergencies include:
A severe injury to the teeth, mouth and face.
Severe infection, like an abscess or swelling.
Bleeding that doesn’t stop.
Dental pain that can’t be managed by medications like acetaminophen and ibuprofen.
If you have an emergency but don’t have a dentist, the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario has a list of emergency clinics. Do not go to the hospital emergency room!
