In an effort to better accommodate its shoppers, Upper Canada Mall now hosts a 238 square foot accessibility bathroom.
The private washroom is designed for guests with accessibility requirements and their personal support workers, as well as families.
It includes an adult change table, lift, sling, accessible toilet and sink, along with a child sized toilet and change table. General Manager Ryan Da Silva says you can buzz to get into the private space.
The project, one of the first in a public setting in the GTA was the result of collaborations between the community, accessibility advocates and Newmarket Town Council.
The new space is located in the upper level by the food court.
