The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation says a $70-million unclaimed Lotto Max ticket was officially declared unclaimed on Thursday.
This makes it the largest unclaimed prize in Canadian history.
OLG says nearly 2,700 people made claims for the prize, but none were identified as the legitimate holder of the winning ticket.
Meanwhile, Ontario Provincial Police have charged a 33-year-old North Bay woman who allegedly made a fake claim for a $70-million Lotto Max ticket, though investigators could not confirm if she was seeking the $70-million unclaimed lottery ticket sold in Scarborough in June 2022.
The woman faces fraud and forgery charges.
