Time is running out for the public to share their spending priorities with Barrie city councillors.
Using the budget allocator tool, users can test spending options for many city services by increasing or decreasing the budget for each area, all while maintaining a balanced budget.
There have been 514 submissions via the tool so far. Results show that, among others, economic and creative development, roads, and recreation and culture services are the most popular areas that respondents chose to increase or decrease spending levels on.
The deadline to offer feedback is midnight on Dec. 18. The results will be shared with city council during the 2021 Business Plan and Budget deliberations. Depending on discussions, the budget is scheduled to be approved on January 25, 2021.
