A full day of books, writers, and live readings

From 10 AM to 4 PM, visitors can drop in anytime to wander through vendor tables, browse new titles, and chat with local writers. Whether you’re into romance, fantasy, memoir, poetry, thrillers, or children’s books, there’s something here for every kind of reader.

And yes … you can absolutely get your books signed.

Story Time for Kids (10 AM to 12 PM)

Families can start the morning with special readings from children’s authors and young local storytellers. It’s fun, interactive, and the perfect way to spark a love of reading early.

Teen & Adult Author Readings (Throughout the Day)

As the day goes on, the main stage shifts to teen and adult authors who will be sharing excerpts, discussing their writing process, and talking about what inspired their books. It’s a rare chance to hear stories straight from the people who wrote them.

A celebration of local creativity

This event is all about spotlighting Barrie’s literary community and the writers are excited to meet their readers.

“There’s never been a better time to support Canadian talent! Come and hear stories that feel close to home,” said local author Wendy McQuaig. “We can’t wait to connect with our community, support creators directly, and celebrate the stories that bring us together.”

Perfect for holiday shopping

If you’re hunting for unique, meaningful gifts, this is the place to find them. Signed books make thoughtful presents, and buying directly from authors supports their work in a big way.
