Local veterans honoured with banners in downtown Elmvale
Banners will remain in place until the end of the month
Banners are up in Elmvale – along Queen Street – honouring 32 local servicemen and women who fought for our freedom.
“The Elmvale Legion is excited to see the photos of veterans line Queen Street in Elmvale,” says Milt Walters, Vice President, Legion Branch 262. “Our board members took great care in selecting the first 32 veterans we would honour through this initiative. Many of the veterans featured also have families that continue to reside in the area.”

This initiative is a partnership with the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 262 (Elmvale), the Elmvale BIA and the Township of Springwater.
“The Elmvale BIA is proud to partner with the Township and the Legion on this initiative. We look forward to commemorating even more of the deserving, local servicemen and women in the future,” says Jason Schell, Elmvale BIA President.
More than 100 local veterans’ photos line the walls of the Elmvale Legion. The partnership hopes to expand on the number of veterans recognized in years to come.
The banners will remain in place until the end of the month.
