Every year, Barrie celebrates Locallicious, a two-week event where local restaurants showcase their culinary prowess by creating special prix-fixe menus. The event is the perfect time to explore Barrie's fine dining scene and experience the city's unique blend of local cuisine and international flavors.
If you're looking to indulge in an extraordinary dining experience, here are some of the fine dining restaurants you should visit during Locallicious (February 24 to March 10) ...
1. Crazy Fox Bistro ($35)
The kings of casual fine dining, Crazy Fox Bistro has been serving up quality without compromise since 1986 and their Locallicious menu is as awesome as ever! Once again there are lots of choices including their roasted carrot & ginger soup, veal parmigiana, pecan-crusted chicken, shrimp skewer maƮtre d'butter, and more. Once you've enjoyed your first two dishes, you can finish it off with one of their house-made desserts!
2. Bayside Variety ($35)
Bayside Variety is a culinary gem located on the shores of Kempenfelt Bay in Barrie, Ontario. This contemporary kitchen is known for its stunning views and exceptional cuisine. During Locallicious, Bayside Variety is offering a special three-course meal that showcases their culinary innovation. The menu at Bayside Variety features an array of mouth-watering appetizers, entrees, and desserts. Some of the options include burrata, pork belly, striploin, herb-crusted halibut, and pancetta stuffed chicken supreme.
3. Town & Country Steakhouse ($20 & $35)
Town & Country Steakhouse is offering two different price options for Locallicious this year! The first option is $35 and lets you choose from soups and salads for starters, three different options for entrees (plus a Sunday-only special), and a dessert from their daily selection.
If you're looking for a lower price point, you can enjoy their takeout smash burger special. This option includes a choice of starter and dessert along with a Smash Burger and fries.
4. Il Buco ($35)
From the moment you step into Il Buco, you're transported to an elegant and cozy atmosphere that is perfect for a romantic Italian dinner or a night out with friends. Friendly staff make you feel right at home, and the wine list offers a great selection of local and international wines to pair with your meal. For this year's Locallicious, the Il Buco menu includes beef carpaccio, house-made soups, roasted beet salad, casareccia, lamb shank, veal marsala, and several more delicious dishes.
