Barrie Police say an evacuation at a south end high school and a lockdown at Georgian College were not related.
A threat was reported this morning at Bear Creek SS. The school was evacuated and police were called. Barrie Police investigated and determined the school was safe. Students and staff have returned to the regular school day.— Simcoe County District School Board (@SCDSB_Schools) September 14, 2021

Around 7:30 Tuesday morning, police say a threat was made against Bear Creek Secondary School on Red Oak Drive. Staff and students were evacuated from the building. In collaboration with school administration, police responded to the location and through their investigation were able to determine the threat was unfounded. The lockdown was lifted shortly before 8 a.m.
About an hour later, police received information regarding a suspicious person in the area of Georgian College. Officers attended and were able to determine there was not a threat to the college or any other location. The person was later located. It was determined there was no threat to public safety.
