Man Sought Following Barrie Beach Assault

Punch to the Face Could Have Been Over Perceived Racial Slur

Barrie Police are looking for someone accused of punching a woman at centennial beach the other day, over what was believed to be a racial slur.

The 18-year-old woman was punched around 3:20 on the morning of Saturday, July 13th, over what was believed to be a slur against the young man who allegedly did the punching, while police say now the woman was referencing a song.

Still, police want to speak to the man, or any of the other witnesses that might’ve been in the black dodge vehicle in which the man was seen leaving.

The male suspect was described as black, approximately 18 years old and 6’2″ tall.  He was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt with a red “V” on the front with a blue boarder.

Anyone who may be able to assist the Barrie Police is asked to email the investigating officer at 7498@barriepolice.ca.
