Meet the New Boss, Same As The Old Boss… Actually, He Is The Old Boss
Blaine Parkin Back as New Tecumseth CAO After Less Than a Month
The Town of New Tecumseth has a new CAO, but it’s pretty likely the guy knows his way around.
Blaine Parkin is back at the township office as of the end of this month, after a very brief stint with the City of Barrie. Parkin left New Tec to take a job as Barrie’s General Manager of Infrastructure and Growth on January 16th of this year, less than a month ago.
Parkin first started with New Tecumseth as Deputy CAO in 2015, after over a decade with the City of Barrie. He served as acting CAO until July 2017 when he was officially appointed in a full-time capacity.
“The leadership, experience and knowledge that Blaine has of New Tecumseth is invaluable. For our business continuity, his expertise of the organization’s history and all of the plans for 2019 and beyond, having Blaine in the CAO chair to lead the Town through is in the best interest of the Town and the organization,” said Mayor Rick Milne.
Barrie’s CAO, Michael Prowse says “We are sad to see Blaine go back to New Tecumseth, however, we have a very strong team in place, so it will be business as usual.”
General Manager and Chief Financial Officer Lori Bedford is to serve as the Interim CAO until Parkin’s return February 28th.
