Midland police investigating crash at local car wash that sent child to Toronto hospital with serious injuries

No charges laid

A young child was airlifted to a Toronto trauma centre following a collision in Midland.

The Southern Georgian Bay OPP detachment got the call before 8:30 p.m. Monday to a car wash on William Street with reports a child was struck by a vehicle. Police say the youngster suffered serious injuries and was first transported to a local hospital by County of Simcoe paramedics before an air ambulance was called.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation. The OPP reminds motorists to be vigilant of their surroundings and watch for children at all times.
