
A need for speed proved to be costly for a motorcyclist in Barrie.
Police say a traffic unit officer was conducting speed enforcement on the afternoon of May 8 when a motorcycle was seen travelling at a high rate of speed.
According to police, the motorcycle was westbound on Big Bay Point Road and was clocked at 131 km/h in a 50 km/h zone.
The motorcycle was stopped, and a 49-year-old Barrie man was charged with stunt driving and speeding by more than 40 or more kilometres per hour in a zone that is less than 80 km/h.
His driver's licence was suspended for 30 days, his motorcycle has been impounded for 14 days.
