
A 35-year-old Fort Erie man who is required to have an interlock ignition device in their vehicle was charged by Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) after they responded to a report shortly after 4 a.m. on Tuesday of a suspected impaired driver southbound on Highway 11 in Oro-Medonte.
The driving ability of the motorist was observed by police and officers entered into an impaired driving investigation.
The driver was charged with impaired driving, driving a vehicle not equipped with an ignition interlock device, driving a vehicle while prohibited, failure to comply with a release order, driving while under suspension, and refusal to comply with a demand.
