Multiple arrests and a slew of charges following weekend robberies in Orillia

One victim was restrained in his home by force and threatened

Two early morning robberies in Orillia has resulted in charges against three people.

Ontario Provincial Police say two males entered a Forest Avenue home shortly after midnight on Saturday and restrained the lone male occupant by force. The suspects took numerous items and threatened the victim before leaving.

On Sunday morning, police responded to a disturbance on Moffat Street regarding one man chasing another man. One of the males was located by police who were then directed by witnesses to an Atherley Road apartment where investigators learned a robbery had taken place involving the two suspects from the previous incident. A man and a woman were arrested at the scene, and a third suspect was nabbed later that day.

A 33-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman, both from Orillia, and a 27- year-old male from Severn, face a total of more than two dozen charges.
