New Tecumseth Driver Collared After Cops Claim He Ran From The Scene

Police Say There Was an Open Bottle of Booze in the Car

A young New Tecumseth man is in hot water from the law, after they say he hoofed it from a traffic stop.

Officers pulled a vehicle over due to an expired licence plate sticker, around 9:00 Monday evening, in the area of the 7th Line of Bradford. The driver allegedly got out of the car and fled on foot through a field. Police say a look inside the now-empty vehicle showed open liquor in the car, while running the plate found the driver had a suspended licence.

Investigation led police to a property in New Tecumseth, where a 23-year-old man was found and arrested. He faces a few charges now, including Obstructing Police and Driving Under Suspension.
