New Tecumseth fire knocked down Monday night blaze in about 30 minutes

No injuries reported, cause and damage estimate to be determined

Everyone got out okay after a fire in Alliston.

The New Tecumseth Fire Service was called to a two-storey home on Treetops Blvd. around 9 p.m. Monday with reports of a fire there. First responders arrived to find five people who had gotten out safely, and after being assessed by Simcoe County Paramedics, were found to not require hospitalization.

Firefighters had the blaze knocked down by 9:35 p.m. and while neighbouring homes were evacuated as a precaution, no other structures suffered damage in this incident.

An investigator with the Fire Marshal’s Office was on scene as of Tuesday morning to look for a cause. There was no damage estimate immediately available.
