One driver arrested, second being sought, following a double hit-and-run in Bradford

65-year-old victim was recently released from Toronto hospital after being hit by two cars

South Simcoe Police have made an arrest following a January hit-and-run involving two separate vehicles.

A 65-year-old Bradford woman was struck while crossing the street at Holland Street and West Park Avenue, at around 7 p.m. on Friday, January 22. The first vehicle, described as a white Range Rover (pictured below), hit the woman and fled the scene at a high rate of speed. The second vehicle struck the victim while she lay on the road and also fled the scene.

Police say the driver of the second vehicle was taken into custody on Thursday. A 51-year-old Markham man is facing charges of failing to stop at a crash involving injuries, and dangerous driving causing harm. The driver of the Range Rover is being sought. “We are once again appealing to the driver of the white Ranger Rover to do the right thing, contact a lawyer and surrender to police,” said Det. Sgt. Kai Johnson of the Criminal Investigation Bureau. “We will never give up. Several months have passed and it’s time for you, and anyone who may know about your involvement, to come forward and speak to us.”

The woman was recently released from Toronto hospital to continue recovering at home.
