On Saturday March 27, 2021 between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., members of the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Auxiliary Unit held a food drive in preparation for the Easter holidays in Alliston, New Tecumseth.

Auxiliary members were located outside at the front entrances of Zehrs, located at 30 King Street South and Giant Tiger, located at 130 Young Street. They collected non-perishable food items, cash, and gift certificates will which have been donated to The Good Shepherd Food Bank to support extra demands that our local food banks face during the Easter long weekend.

“We would like to thank the generous members of our community for helping to contribute to make every families’ Easter meal a special one. With the last year being what it has been, many people have fallen on tough times, and your generosity is very much appreciated. We certainly wouldn’t have been able to do this without the tremendous support of members of our community, thank you!”

– Andy McDougall, Nottawasaga OPP Auxiliary Staff Sergeant

Due to the overwhelming support and generosity of our community, the Auxiliary Unit was able to deliver and donate over 1492 pounds of food and over $620.00 in cash donations. A big thank you to everyone who contributed to the success!
