OPP nab motorist clocked doing twice the speed limit south of Collingwood

Not a great way to close out the year

A Clearview Township man started off 2022 without a pickup truck and without driver’s licence.

OPP say they stopped a motorist on 33-34 Sideroad near Nottawa around 1:15 a.m. on Dec. 30, 2021, who was clocked doing 155 km/h per hour in a 60-k zone. But not before the officer also spotted the driver zipping through an intersection and failing to stop at a stop sign.

The 28-year-old driver was charged with stunt driving, disobeying a stop sign and failing to have an insurance card.

The pickup truck was impounded for 30-days and the man’s driver’s licence was suspended for two weeks.
