OPP release video of dramatic ice rescue in Bracebridge

The woman was transported to hospital with possible life-threatening injuries

If the spoken word from police isn’t sinking in, maybe video of a woman being rescued from a Muskoka lake will be the wake-up call some people need in order for them to stay off area waterways.

The 33-year-old from Keswick was on a hike Wednesday morning when she ventured out onto Paul’s Lake in Bracebridge, believing the ice was safe. The woman went through the ice and got stuck in mud up to her waist.

At the time, Ontario Provincial Police said the woman was transported to a local hospital for treatment of possible life-threatening injuries.
