Beginning November 1, the Orillia Public Library is launching a special Donation Drive to raise funds for a new Makerspace. This dedicated area of the Library will provide access to innovative technology and creative tools. The Makerspace will include cutting-edge technology such as a Glowforge Laser Cutter, embroidery and sewing machine, 3D Printer, and Cricut vinyl cutter. These incredible, often cost-prohibitive resources are available to all members of the community free of charge.

While tax-supported government funding supports the Library’s core operating costs, the Library would appreciate your help to fund its efforts to keep up with growing demands for new technologies. Your donation ensures they are able to keep these exciting services available for everyone.

Bessie Sullivan, Library CEO, remarked “in the short time I have been here, I have been amazed by how much the Library and its programs and services are valued by the community”.

All donations are greatly appreciated, with any amount of $20 or more being eligible for a tax receipt and special OPL branded merchandise given at the $20, $50 and $100 tiers. Donations can be given through the Library’s website, in person, or by mail for this fundraising campaign which runs from November 1st to November 30th.

Please call the Library at 705-325-2338 for more information.
