Person seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle in Barrie on Sunday

Police said the driver fled the scene

Barrie Police is seeking witnesses after a person suffered serious injuries when they were struck by a vehicle in a parking lot at 61 King Street around 10 p.m. on Sunday.

The driver fled the scene. There were two occupants in the vehicle, which is described as a dark, two-door older model.

The victim, a 46-year old Barrie man, was transported to a Toronto trauma centre.

Investigators are asking the public who may have been in the area, or who may have surveillance footage from the area to contact police.
