In our quest to highlight the best of Barrie, we set out to find the best pizza joint in the city.
This tour stopped when we discovered what might just be the most Canadian pizza ever made. It starts with a 900 degree wood-fired oven, and don’t be mistaken, you can dress any pizza up but without this – it’s just another pizza.
PIE Wood Fired Pizza fire up their oven – which is imported from Italy – and then add staves from old Canadian whiskey barrels for a true north smoke like no other. It only gets better. They add triple bacon, double cheese and a maple chili whiskey glaze that will have you singing our national anthem while devouring the last slice.
We also suggest you try the classic Muskoka Pie or the Big Quack Pie with smoked duck breast and dill mustard aioli. If that’s not your jam, just take a look at one of the other za’s menu.
