Please…leave the boat at the dock as flooding persists
Waves from passing boats not helping
There’s a new issue for flood ravaged residents of Muskoka to deal with.
Boaters.
Our friends and neighbours who are struggling to preserve their homes and properties need your assistance – please stay off the water, boat traffic is creating waves that are causing sandbags to fall. There is also floating debris everywhere! #MuskokaFlood #safetyfirst pic.twitter.com/oYZhjaAuTW

Municipal officials asking people to stay off the water during the crisis. Wakes and waves from boat traffic are causing sandbagging efforts to fail.
The Military moved into Bracebridge at the weekend to help fill and distribute sandbags. A local Montessori school pitched in to help as well.
Montessori School had a great turn out from local kids today to fill over 300 sandbags! @GraydonTheMayor @townbracebridge pic.twitter.com/OELEoZNYDs

The Township of Muskoka Lakes has declared a state of emergency, joining Bracebridge, Huntsville and Minden.
The Town of Gravenhurst is keeping a close watch on the water. There have been isolated pockets of flooding in and around the town but nothing compared to what communities further north are experiencing.
