45-year-old man facing theft charges

Orillia OPP say a man is facing charges after walking out the door of a local grocery store with hundreds of dollars’ worth of meat.

Just after noon on Wednesday, a store owner called Orillia detachment to report a shoplifter had just left the business with a bag of stolen goods, and that the owner was following them on foot.

Officers quickly zeroed in on the suspect on Fittons Road and took him into custody. Police say he had over $250 worth of meat that had not been paid for.

A 45-year-old Orillia man is facing theft-related charges.
