Beeton man charged with theft and assault
Police responded to reports of road rage in Bradford, but ended up recovering some stolen goods.
Around 12:30 Thursday afternoon, South Simcoe Police officers were called to the Home Depot parking lot on Holland St. in Bradford, and arrived to be told a near collision in the parking lot sparked a road rage incident between two drivers. A verbal dispute between the driver of a hatchback and pickup escalated to the point where the pickup was damaged, and a machete brandished.
Police say the trailer and some construction materials being towed by the pickup were reported stolen. A 49-year-old Beeton man is facing charges including assault with a weapon and theft.
A 19-year-old Bradford man was charged with mischief.
