UPDATE: Police Investigating Downtown Barrie Shooting

Two Men Treated At Hospital for Gunshot Wounds Have Since Been Released

Thursday

Barrie Police report the two men injured in the weekend incident have been treated for their wounds and have since been released from hospital. No arrests have been made while the investigation continues.

Monday

Two people are in hospital with gunshot wounds after a series of events at a downtown Barrie bar.

Officers were first called to the hospital around 2:30 Sunday morning after two men came in for treatment of what appeared to be gunshot wounds.

While that was happening, other officers were downtown, investigating reports of an incident at an establishment on Dunlop Street. It was first believed this incident was unrelated to the two injured in hospital, but police say the two investigations are now one.

Neither of the victims’ injuries are reported as life threatening.

Police believe this to be an isolated incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact Sergeant Ross of the Barrie Police either by phone at (705)725-7025 ex.2524, or via email at mross@barriepolice.ca.
