Police searching for man who might have insight into February jetplane arson

Person of Interest may shed light on case

York Regional Police have released an image of a man they’d like to speak to in connection to a case of arson at Buttonville Airport.

Police say the man is not a suspect but might know who is.

First responders were called to the Markham airport around 11:30 on the night of February 27th to find a Dassualt Falcon 50 tri-jet ablaze outside Hangar #5. The fire was knocked down with no injuries and later deemed intentionally set.

Investigators reviewed area security footage and have identified a person of interest who may have information that could shed light on this case. However, anyone with information is asked to contact the York Regional Police #5 District Criminal Investigations Bureau at 1-866-876-5423, ext. 7541,
