Project Condor: York Regional Police lay over 200 charges against 45 people

Many of the suspects do not have resident status in Canada

45 people have been charged with more than 200 offences after a seven-month investigation by York Regional Police into home break-ins, organized retail thefts and high-value distraction thefts.

The April-October probe-dubbed Project Condor-identified 32 incidents of residential break and enters that happened in York Region and throughout the GTA including Barrie and Bradford.

Police also seized $150,000 in stolen property and recovered $62,000 in cash as a result of arrests connected with retail and distraction thefts.

Investigators say many of the accused do not have resident status in Canada and 14 suspects have been deported to their countries of origin.
