Public assistance sought in attempted robbery, assault investigation in Innisfil

South Simcoe Police are seeking the public's help after an attempted robbery and assault that occurred shortly before noon on Oct. 30 in the area of Innisfil Beach Road and Adullam Avenue.

Police say an 18-year-old man was standing on the sidewalk when he heard an unknown male yelling at him. The suspect approached the man and demanded money and drugs. According to police, the victim told the guy he didn't have any and was assaulted by the suspect who stated he had a weapon. He suffered minor injuries.

Police have released images of the suspect and a female who was with him at the time of the incident.
