Public School Board’s Terry Fox Foundation fundraising efforts have exceeded four million bucks

This year's run will be virtual

Hats off to the students and staff with the Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB), who have announced they’ve raised over four million dollars to date, all in Terry Fox’s name.

The SCDSB announced on Thursday that its 2019 Terry Fox campaign raised $235,365, with its schools, Learning Centres, and the Education Centre all contributing to the effort. That money pushed the SCDSB’s funds raised to $4,145,342 to date.

“I am truly inspired and proud of the contributions our students, staff, and communities have made to the Terry Fox Run campaign over the years,” says Steve Blake, Director of Education. “Forty years ago, Terry Fox started a quest to eliminate cancer, and I commend all of the effort that our school communities have put into continuing that quest.”
