A community in Brooklyn, New York, has an interesting feature: a roadside fish tank.
The people in the neighbourhood of Bed-Stuy have been using a leaky fire hydrant as a makeshift home for over 100 goldfish.

It's unknown if the fire hydrant was already leaking or if someone opened it, but as the water started creating a pond, someone decided to add the goldfish.
Now, the little guys are thriving in the space, and people around the neighbourhood drop by several times a day to feed them.
The pond has become an attraction that makes people happy, but the fish are at risk from pollution from the streets and predatory birds.

While many in the neighbourhood love the pond, others think it's ridiculous.
Keeping the fish in the puddle is not viable long-term as the seasons change, so the neighbourhood has started a GoFundMe campaign to make the fixture permanent.
According to organizers, they are " Trying to help build a better habitat for the fishes to thrive and also funds for food and an outside ventilation system for them so they can survive through the seasons, so the community can continue to enjoy the beauty of nature."
So far, they have reached half of their $2,500 goal.
