RVH eases visitor restrictions just in time for the weekend

One visitor per patient, for one hour, once a week

Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) is loosening its visitor restrictions as COVID-19 numbers continue to trend in the right direction.

Effective Friday, June 11 at 10 a.m., patients at RVH will be permitted one visitor, once a week, for one hour during a specific, pre-booked time. Designated visitors can schedule their visit with a patient’s care team by calling the inpatient unit at (705) 728-9090. A list of inpatient unit extensions can be found on the RVH website.

Daily visitation blocks will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. or 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. daily. All visitors will be screened for COVID-19 symptoms and those who fail screening will be denied entry. Those who pass will be required to wear a hospital-issued mask at all times.

Common areas of the building remain off-limits, other than designated washrooms; visitors must go directly to and from the unit they are visiting.
