I, like many people, have witnessed the near demise of a few marriages because of the board game Scrabble.
For the first time in 75 years, Mattel is changing the game to a more collaborative and accessible version, making it less intimidating for younger generations.

As part of the change, the "No More Scoring" option will be called "Scrabble Together."
This option includes helper cards, a simpler scoring system, quicker play, and teams.
Traditionalist hard-core gamers don't have to fear, though; the board game is double-sided so that the other side will allow for traditional gameplay.

A spokesperson said, "Scrabble has truly stood the test of time as one of the most popular board games in history, and we want to ensure the game continues to be inclusive for all players."
"For anyone who's ever thought, 'word games aren't for me', or felt a little intimidated by the Classic game, Scrabble Together Mode is an ideal option."
The change was prompted by a survey conducted by the company that found that competitiveness is perceived as declining in younger generations.
