On Wednesday, October 24, 2018, students of St. Dominic Catholic Secondary School (DOM) in Bracebridge, who had achieved 80% or better in the previous year, were celebrated at the annual Honour Roll Breakfast.

Parents and family members of each student were invited to join their child in a morning filled with food, celebration and socialization. There were 120 people in attendance, including staff members of DOM.

The Grade 10, 11, and 12 hospitality classes of DOM made the breakfast while in class, and items such as muffins, fruit salad and french toast casserole were served and enjoyed by many.

When asked about her thoughts on the breakfast, student Rory C. said, “I was surprised that there were all kinds of people there and that it didn’t focus on certain groups of students.”

The event began with speeches from trustee Mrs Corriveau-Truchon and guidance councillor Mrs Starratt. Afterwards, students and guests were given time to enjoy breakfast and following that students were called to the stage by grade and presented with certificates that acknowledged their honour role achievement. Parents were given lots of time to take pictures, of course!

Thank you to everyone who attended this important event. We look forward to the next Honour Roll Breakfast!
