Search warrants in Barrie, Rama net $120K in cocaine: police

Search warrants were executed at a residence in Barrie and Rama First Nation on Thursday afternoon that resulted in the seizure of $120,000 in cocaine, according to police.

The warrants were carried out by Rama Police, Ontario Provincial Police and Barrie Police.

In a social media post on Friday, Rama Police said more than 1.5 kilograms of cocaine and $23,400 in cash were seized.

A 21-year-old man from Rama First Nation has been charged with 13 offences under the Criminal Code and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

“Every arrest and seizure of drugs brings us one step closer to a safer & heathier community. We are committed to removing dangerous substances from our streets to protect our members and foster a secure environment for all," said Rama Police Chief Jerel Swamp
