Seniors Wish Provides Elderly With Gifts This Christmas

Group hopes to reach every senior who would be alone during the holiday season.

The Seniors Wish Association hopes to brighten the holiday season for local seniors who might be alone for Christmas.

The local charity provides gifts and company to seniors who have no one to be with.

Chair Pat Imrie says “It is the goal of the association to reach every senior in the community who would otherwise be alone during the holiday season.”

The group is given names of people in need of their services from Long Term Care Homes, Retirement Homes, Meals on Wheels, Red Cross, Churches, youth groups, and other community services and organizations. However Imrie says, they encourage the community to give them the names of anyone who might be alone.

The goal this year is to reach the ‘hidden’ or forgotten seniors in our community who are so isolated that they are completely alone and would not show up on a list Imrie adds. “We are asking people to provide names to us, or lonely seniors to call us – don’t be shy or afraid and if you have a special wish we are here for that also.”

The group provides gifts to seniors in Innisfil, Bradford, Oro-Medonte, Orillia, Clearview, and other surrounding areas.

You can also help out by participating in adopt a senior or donate items to be put into presents.
