"Sensory Friendly" Shopping At Sobeys

Small Effort, Big Impact
Sensory Friendly Shopping

A few select Sobeys locations are offering special "Sensory Friendly" shopping hours where lights are dimmed and noise levels are reduced.

The inclusion of these shopping hours will allow individuals with sensitivities to light and sound, like those on the Autism spectrum, to participate in an everyday activity that most of us take for granted.

There are currently just a few locations that are offering the program, including the Angus location, but Sobeys is looking into expanding and incorporating the "Sensory Friendly" shopping hours into a regular event.

Being such an easy (and fantastic) program to participate in and one that is sure to benefit many people, hopefully, we see more Sobeys (and other stores) incorporating "Sensory Friendly" shopping into their regular hours.
