Setting sail for jail after man arrested aboard a boat in Orillia

Boat owner reported someone on his vessel who had started the engine

A 26-year-old man was sunk before he left the harbour after Ontario Provincial Police in Orillia arrested a suspect soon after a boat owner called to report someone was on his vessel and had started the engine.

Police headed to the Port of Orillia around 9 p.m. Friday where they found the suspect sitting in the captain’s chair on the upper deck. He was taken to the detachment for further investigation.

As a result, police charged him with break and enter and theft over $5,000.
