#ShowRVHLove with a bid in an online auction promising virtual city hall tours, private performances, and coaching from the Baycats

Three week fundraising effort going towards equipment and ICU expansion

Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) is launching an online effort to help support its frontline healthcare heroes.

On Wednesday, RVH will kick off the #ShowRVHLove online auction as a means of raising funds to support the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit expansion, as well as to purchase equipment like ventilators, tablets for patients to communicate with loved ones, and others on the hospital’s list of priority needs.

The online auction promises many fun, unique, entertaining, and educational virtual experiences and items donated by local businesses and community leaders. A virtual behind-the-scenes tour of Barrie City Hall with Mayor Jeff Lehman, coaching sessions with the Barrie Baycats, and private performances are among the items up for grabs.

“Team RVH has been working tirelessly to provide the highest level of patient care during the COVID-19 pandemic. And they are not doing it alone; requests and offers to help from local businesses and individuals have been nothing short of extraordinary,” says Eric Dean, RVH Foundation CEO. “We know our goal of keeping our families, friends and community safe and healthy is a shared one. By supporting the online auction our community is putting the best tools into the right hands during this battle.”

Community members can visit the auction site www.auctionforRVH.ca to view items. Bidding begins May 20 at 7 am and ends on June 10, 2020 at 9 pm sharp.
