Simcoe County reopening admin centre as it begins taking bookings for county museum

Facility reopening part of a plan guided by local health unit and recovery task force

The County of Simcoe is unlocking more doors as part of its recovery from COVID-19.

As part of a plan laid out by the local health unit and the County’s Return to the Workplace Task Force, the Administration Centre’s Service Simcoe Contact Centre will be reopening on Tuesday, August 4. The centre will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. every weekday. Those visiting the county’s administration centre should expect plexiglass barriers, touchless point-of-sale, roped barriers, directional signage, and more, as part of the post-COVID experience.

Additionally, the Simcoe County Museum will open on Tuesday. It will be open seven days a week, with the reduced hours of operation of 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. to allow for more cleaning. Residents will be required to book a time in advance no more than five days prior to their visit and can do so through the Simcoe County Museum website.

Time slots of 30-minute increments will be available, and groups are capped at ten people. Everyone is required to wear a mask before entry.
