Poor weather keeps Snowbirds grounded at CFB Trenton

UPDATE TWO: Snowbirds to remain grounded at CFB Trenton for 24 hours.


UPDATE: Due to low visibility east of Toronto, the Snowbirds have returned to CFB Trenton to review weather details. The Snowbirds were on their way to London.

The Snowbirds are scheduled to fly over the Collingwood and Barrie-area this afternoon as part of their cross-Canada mission to boost morale during the pandemic.

“Operation Inspiration” is to salute Canadians for doing their part to fight the spread of COVID-19.

Weather permitting, the Snowbirds are scheduled to depart London at 4:15 p.m., landing at Lake Simcoe Regional Airport at 5:15 p.m.

The Snowbirds will veer north from Brampton toward the Collingwood area and then take a path over Highway 26 to Barrie.

The aerobatic team is asking the public to respect physical distancing and watch from home.
