Snowy road aids Barrie police in nabbing vehicle that fled

Suspect is accused of stealing from businesses in Park Place

Mother Nature was able to lend a hand to Barrie police that gave chase to a vehicle in the city’s south end.

The pursuit began Wednesday afternoon, and according to spokesperson Peter Leon, it ended when the driver lost control on Churchill Drive due to the poor weather conditions.

Police say a 40-year-old woman of no fixed address has been charged with stealing from several businesses in Park Place as well as being in possession of a stolen car and licence plates.

She is also facing charges related to probation and driving-related offences.

Police continue to investigate.
