Roadway Closed Several Hours Following Crash
One person has been airlifted to Toronto hospital with severe injuries after a crash in south Barrie.

Barrie Police say Highway 27 is closed from Salem Rd to Lougheed Rd following a collision that required extrication and sent one person to hospital.
The crash happened around 8:30 this morning, on Highway 27 near Salem Rd, just south of Mapleview.
Barrie Fire had to extricate the victim, who was first brought to RVH, later airlifted to Toronto trauma centre.

The roadway was closed nearly five hours.
